Taisan-ji Temple is the only building designated as an official national treasure in Kobe and blends a good mixture of architecture styles. The temple is mainly based on the "Wayo" Japanese style, adopting traditional architecture methods and featuring "shitomido" doors. Parts of the ceilings are beautifully engraved and the designs are influenced by the "Karayo" Chinese style. It is famous as a viewing spot for cherry blossoms in the spring, and autumn foliage in the fall.
