The Ehagaki Museum (Picture Postcard Museum) is a rare museum open to the public where vistors can enjoy a majestic picture postcard collection that the director himself has collected for more than 40 years now. The unique display comprises over 50,000 postcards, as well as splendid Japanese hand colored art, woodcut, other artistic creations, overseas greeting cards and rare items. You can also enjoy an exhibition that highlights both Japanese and international selections from the late Meiji era up until the Taisho and Showa periods. Furthermore, a special exhibition that picks up postcards showing an unique viewpoint is frequently held. Please rediscover the history listening to the stories of the postcards, get immersed in nostalgic landscapes, and learn about traditional customs and culture.
