
70th Anniversary Special Exhibition “Roots of Kawaii Rune Naito Exhibition” @Kobe Fashion Museum
This exhibition introduces multi-creator Naito Rune, known as the "Roots of Kawaii" as the creator of Kawaii culture and a leader of Japanese girl culture in the 1950s and 1960s.
Naito Rune got her big break as a cover and illustration for the fashion magazine "Junior Soreiyu," which was overwhelmingly popular at the time.
She has laid the foundation of pop culture with her illustrations, designs, and fancy goods.
The exhibition features collection of rare original drawings, reproductions of Rune girl costumes, and fancy goods, including the first exhibition of works.
