The architecture features a large roof inspired by the sails of a ship sailing over the white waves of the ocean. When lit up at night, the delicacy and boldness of the architectural design comes into sharp relief. The contrast of lights against Kobe Port Tower is a must-see. The museum introduces the mechanisms and appeal of ships, the facilities found in ports and the roles they play, and shows how the town changed over time.
