Hiruko Shrine (Yanagihara Ebisu Shrine) is famous for the Toka Ebisu Festival, held on the 9th to 11th of January every year. At the festival, one of the biggest events is the tuna offering ritual, where men carry a massive tuna (maguro), yellowtail (buri), or sea bream (tai) fish around the shrine and put it up as offering. Many business owners come to the shrine to pray for flourish and prosperity for their businesses, along with people praying for their homes and their children’s success in school.
