Surprisingly suitable? Infiltrate Worcestershire Sauce×BAR collaboration event!
The "Kobe BAR ×Worcestershire Sauce Project" planned by Oliver Sauce, a sauce company in Kobe, was held from October 2025 to February of this year.
A combination of Worcestershire sauce and bar (alcohol). "Does that fit?" "Is it really delicious?" Many people may feel strange.

Worcestershire sauce aged for 3 years
Worcestershire sauce is essential for Western food. Worcestershire sauce, which is commonly sold, is not made by lying down, but it is made from vegetables, fruits, and spices, so it is delicious when aged.
And there are many sauce makers in Kobe City. The reason for this is that the opening of Kobe Port led to the blossomement of Western food culture from an early age. Kobe is also known as the "city of bars" due to the opening of the port and the establishment of a Western liquor culture, but it is actually also a "city of sauce"!
「神戸はソースの街」だということを、もっと多くの人に知ってもらいたい! その思いを込めて、オリバーソースはあえて手間暇をかけた3-year-old Worcestershire sauce CLIMAX "Evolution by the Gods"を開発しました。

イベントでは、Oliver Sauce President Tatsuhiko Domanが熟成ソースの開発意図を解説しました。それにしても、なぜバーとのコラボを思いついたのでしょう?

From the word "aging," Domitsu said that he came up with a bar culture that finds value in aged items such as wine and whiskey.
そこでソースのボトルも洋酒を意識した、バーに置いても遜色ないようなデザインにしました。
そしてコラボのもう一つの理由は、バーのスタンダードカクテルの中に、ソースを使ったレシピがあるからです。

Tomato cocktail with sauce
そのカクテルの名前は、Bloody Mary。ウォッカをトマトジュースで割ったカクテルですが、多くのバーではウスターソースを加えて提供されています。
一般的にはイギリス製のソースが使われますが、道満さんは"I want Bloody Mary to be drunk in Kobe, the bar town, to use premium sauces from Kobe."と思い、コラボを仕掛けたというわけです。
そのプレミアムなブラッディ・メアリーをイベントで提供してくれたのが、三宮・生田神社の近くにある Bar Andanteです。

Originally, at this bar, Bloody Mary was one of the signature menu items.
This is because where we usually use store-bought tomato juice, this store uses two fruit tomatoes called Amera tomatoes that are grated every time we receive an order.
Dip bacon into vodka, add broth from kelp and shiitake mushrooms... A dish that I am particular about. In addition, you will have one of the best cups of Worcestershire sauce that has been aged for 3 years.

It was very popular with the participants, saying that it was delicious and that it looked like drinking fruit.
Original menus limited to the event are also available.
I want you to know about the various bars in Kobe, so I visited two bars at this event.
次に訪れたのは、バーテンダーの三池智美(みいけ・ともみ)さん、シェフの尾形剛(おがた・ごう)さんが夫婦で営む、ご飯も食べられるBAR alfです。

What kind of alcohol and food will be served? When I was looking forward to it, the first thing that was placed in front of the participants was three small spoons each. Now

I will compare the three types of licking.

According to the participants, each of the three flavors is "completely different!"
British sauces have a sour taste, and 3-year-old sauces are richer than regular Worcestershire sauces and have a taste similar to soy sauce.
When I experienced the difference from other sauces, the cold soup came out. At first, drink it as it is, and add 1~2 drops of 3-year-old sauce in the middle to enjoy the "taste change".

Bartender Miike came up with three original cocktails using 3-year-old sauce for this event.
One of them is a highball made with whiskey called Talisker. Wet the rim of the glass with the sauce and make it snow-style with black pepper.
(*Snow style = a method of applying powder such as salt or sugar to the rim of the glass)

I was surprised that the originally smoky highball became even more fragrant with sauce and black pepper.
Other ideas include the idea of dripping sauce on the cocktail "Kitty", which is a cocktail made of red wine mixed with ginger ale, and the cocktail "Black Lucian", which is a cocktail of vodka and coffee liqueur.
It might taste weird... I was a little worried, but this surprisingly suits me.

And Chef Ogata's special appetizer platter is also a special arrangement for this day.

To my surprise, the one in the middle is a "mini nori bento"! Fried white fish on top of rice and seaweed. Here, you will be poured plenty of 3-year-old sauce.
Aside from frying, is it okay to put sauce on the rice? I thought it was a sauce that tasted close to soy sauce, so it blended wonderfully!
It was a time when I couldn't help but groan at the richness of their ideas and the technology of giving shape to their ideas.

An opportunity to lower the bar bar
A bar where you can relax and enjoy a drink and conversation may be a place where you have the courage to take the first step while still having a longing.
This event also had the purpose of supporting that "first step". In fact, some participants said, "It's my first time going to a bar."
Therefore, Andante also has time to give a lecture on "how to enjoy the bar", such as bar etiquette and how to order, with original materials.
"Even if you can't drink alcohol, you can make non-alcoholic cocktails.と赤井さんが言うと、参加者のみなさんは驚くとともに、ホッとした空気に。

Everyone was nervous when they entered the restaurant, but the bartender's talk and delicious drinks eased the atmosphere of the place, and many questions were asked, and the solo participant naturally had a conversation with the neighbors.
A female participant who said it was her first time at a bar gave me this impression.
"The bar hurdles, which were as high as a wall in me, have been lowered considerably. I found out that it was a safe place to enjoy, and I wanted to come back with my friends."
