Summer in Kobe

Discover the unique charms and famous spots of Kobe in Summer.

Kobe may be hot and humid in summer, but visitors and locals alike can draw on its famous mountains and sea to help ward off the heat. Check out Suma Beach, less than 15 minutes by train from Sannomiya, for a family-friendly day or evening on 1.5km of sand, featuring dining, showers and anything else beachgoers could want.

Returning to the mountain theme, why not visit Nunobiki Falls or the Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens, both easily accessible from Shin-Kobe Station? The sound of the waterfall is a refreshing escape from the summer heat, and a moment’s rest in the shade of the trees is a true luxury. For those seeking a deeper mountain experience, Mt. Rokko and Mt. Maya are also highly recommended, with easy access via cable car or ropeway.
