Suma’s unique cherry blossom festival: a spectacle of sky, sea, and 3,000 cherry trees
Sumaura Park and Sumaura Sanjo Yuen Amusement Park are Kobe’s premier cherry blossom viewing spots, boasting over 3,000 blooming trees.
From the park spreading toward the mountain, you can enjoy a spectacular view of cherry blossoms in full bloom against the backdrop of the gentle Suma Sea, utilizing the park’s slope.
During the “Atsumori Cherry Blossom Viewing Festival” held at peak bloom, photo spots are set up throughout the park. At night, cherry blossom illuminations and projection mapping light up the scene. Food trucks and original sweets are also available, making it perfect for enjoying a quintessential Japanese hanami picnic beneath the blossoms.
