Curators in Panic - Tadanori Yokoo's Curatorial Crisis
Tadanori Yokoo's large-scale solo exhibitions scheduled planned in Japan and abroad from 2021 to 2022 will also include Yokoo's works gathered in our museum. While we are extremely happy, we are also worried, if we can really hold a special exhibition, when 140 works will be gone from our collection? The curators are in a state of panic. Therefore, three curators decided to look back at the past exhibitions and recommend their own \"favorite works\" from the collection. We would like to share with you what we discovered in our daily research, various fun episodes related to the exhibition, and our beloved artworks…….\nWe will be also talking about our love for \"our children\" who were missed out on the selection. Along the exhibition, following the \"Hyogo Prefectural Yokoo Emergency Hospital\" exhibition, which was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic as soon as it opened, as well as \"The State of Emergency by Tadanori Yokoo\" exhibition, which was planned in the middle of the pandemic, we would like to reflect on museum activities amid current chaos.
