Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art

The Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art has over 10,000 works in its collection, focusing on modern and contemporary pieces from artists with a connection to Hyogo. It has a memorial room for two artists representing modern Japanese painting, Koiso Ryohei and Kanayama Heizo, and holds special exhibitions of topical works from Japan and abroad.
The museum was designed by leading Japanese architect Ando Tadao. The unique exterior of the museum, located by the seaside, coupled with sculptures installed around the area, make the outside area a delight.
