Kiku-Masamune Sake Brewery Museum / Taru Sake Meister Factory / Sakazuki Sake Cup Exhibition Room
Kiku-Masamune Sake Brewery Museum
The only facility to display “Nada Sake Brewing Equipment,” a nationally designated Important Tangible Folk Cultural Property, this museum tells of the work and lives of the sake brewers of the Tanba region north of Kobe and the secrets of the “kimoto” brewing method.
Visitors can try free samples of seasonal sake, or pay to try premium brews. You can take the time you need to experience some incredible beverages here.
Taru Sake Meister Factory
Here you can observe the traditional skills of the taru (sake barrel) meisters up close. Taru are made only of cedar and bamboo - no nails or glue are used, as these affect the quality of sake. See for yourself their commitment and skill, the reason why Kiku-Masamune’s taru sake is loved to this day, and the “secret of its taste”.
Sakazuki Sake Cup Exhibition Room
Visitors are treated to a variety of sake cups, the design of which evolved over time with the development of sake drinking culture, matched with the history of sake brewing. Then, there is a display of sake cups from the dawn of the modern age, which has seen flourishing variety. Be immersed in Japanese culture through sake cups, an indispensable part of the story of sake.
