Yamate Hachiban-kan
A unique Ijinkan house built in the Tudor style of 15th century Britain.
Inside what is also known as “Sculpture House” is a must-see display of works by the three great masters of sculpture, Rodin, Bourdelle and Bernard, along with a Makonde carving from Africa, which influenced modern artists like Picasso. Also on display are Buddhist works from Thailand and a stone Gandhara statue.
One popular attraction is Saturn’s Chair, said to be a “power spot” that grants wishes to those who sit on it. Saturn was the Roman god of agriculture.
