Kobe Muslim Mosque

This mosque, a house of worship for the Islam religion, was the first mosque to be built in Japan in 1935 with the investment of Turkish, Tartar and Indian traders residing in Kobe.

Anyone is welcome to visit the mosque and individual or small groups can visit without booking.

It is located a short distance downhill from the Kitano Ijinkan historical district.

Combine a mosque visit with your walk around the Western-style buildings of Kitano and be immersed in the exotic and diverse atmosphere of Kobe.

※ Please be aware that those insufficiently covered (wearing shorts, miniskirts, etc.) are not permitted to enter the Mosque.
