BE KOBE monument (Meriken Park)

The BE KOBE monument was installed in Meriken Park to commemorate the 150th anniversary of opening the Port of Kobe in 2017.

It is an especially popular photo spot in Meriken Park, which is always bustling with visitors.

“Be Kobe” is a civic pride message developed for the 20th anniversary of the 1995 Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake that encapsulates the sense that “the true charm of Kobe is its people”. “Be Kobe” carries the feeling of pride in Kobe and its love for the entrepreneurial spirit and those who pioneer new initiatives.
