【Message from the director】

This city was scarred by a catastrophic earthquake 29 years ago,
and the lives of its citizens have been completely changed.

However, the citizens did not give up facing of any difficulties
and they overcame that tragedy with hope.

After 29 years, we are witnessing the very resilience of this city that has
been revived by the courage of its people and their efforts.

Overcoming the difficult times of the recent pandemic,
We are very happy that Kobe Luminarie will be held again this year.

I believe that this is thanks to the expectations and goodwill of the many people who look forward to the Kobe Luminarie and support its continued holding.

Each light of the Luminarie is the pride and hope of the citizens of Kobe, who hope that the peace and prosperity of the region will continue to twinkle like this light.
