Suma and Maiko are in a landscape dotted with many historical sites, not to mention the greatest beach resort anywhere in the Hanshin district. There is also Suma Aqualife Park, where approximately 20,000 marine creatures of 500 species are on exhibit, and Sumadera Temple, which is associated with the Taira and Minamoto clans. Additionally, the world’s longest suspension bridge--Akashi Kaikyo Bridge linking Kobe and Awaji Island—offers an observatory promenade at a height of 47 meters over the water.
