BE KOBE Monument was installed in the Meriken Park to commemorate the 150th anniversary of opening the Port of KOBE in 2017. It's a particularly popular photo spot in the Meriken Park where is always crowded. The phrase of "BE KOBE," which was created 20 years after the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, is a civil pride message to gather the idea that "What makes Kobe attractive is the citiizens." The phrase "BE KOBE" represents the feeling proud of Kobe where supports people, who is challenging new things, and thier thoughts.
