Highlights of Sannomiya & Motomachi Walking Course
Travel through the stylish Kobe of yesterday, today and tomorrow
At the center of Kobe is the Sannomiya-Motomachi area, overflowing with style. In particular, the streets of Sannomiya--the transportation network hub--are full of the fashionable essence that makes Kobe unique. The picturesque Flower Road, the main street that stretches from Sannomiya to the sea, blooms with seasonal flowers and is scattered with sculptures. The Old Foreign Settlement is lined with retro Western-style brick and stone buildings; a hint of bygone days lurk in the shadows. To the west of Tor Road, which connects the Old Foreign Settlement from north to south, lies Nankinmachi, a small China Town that oozes an oriental atmosphere. You can find out more about Kobe's history and culture by visiting the Kobe City Museum and the Kobe Overseas Chinese History Museum.
